The Butler’s Pantry was founded in 1987 by Eileen Bergin in response to the changing trends in Irish lifestyles and eating habits. Eileen opened the first shop on Mount Merrion Avenue where she started the day cooking and baking great tasting breads, meals, deserts and finished the day selling the fare to local clientele and the hungry customers on their way home in the evenings. The Butler’s Pantry reputation grew very quickly as the place to go for really tasty ‘home style’ food, food that your mother might have made at home once upon a time!

The commitment to premium quality natural food has grown and intensified as the business has developed and expanded. All dishes are made using only the freshest ingredients. There is no addition of any artificial additives, preservatives, stabilisers or any other ‘funnies’ in our food. Our dishes and recipes change with the seasons and availability of fresh ingredients to ensure the very best in taste and flavour.

Today our promise is still the same, and our shop in Sandycove is, like all our shops, warm and welcoming, where shopping is a nice experience and not a chore.
